MEDIA RELEASE: Fidelity International has appointed Satoko Asai as director, institutional business, effective from 24 October 2022.

Based in Melbourne, Ms Asai will help manage institutional client and consultant relationships, and grow Fidelity’s institutional business. She will also work closely with Fidelity’s investment and sustainable investing teams to deliver sustainable solutions to institutional investors.

With over 17 years’ experience in financial services, Ms Asai joins Fidelity from Uniting Ethical Investors where she worked across both the wholesale and institutional distribution channels. She has also worked at the Principles for Responsible Investment in Melbourne, as well as spending five years at Schroders in the institutional team in Tokyo.

Ms Asai will report to Tim Connolly, head of Fidelity’s institutional business, who comments:

“Satoko has extensive experience and strong academic credentials, particularly in sustainability and is a very well-regarded figure in the industry. We’re delighted to have her on board and believe she will be an excellent addition to the team.”

Ms Asai holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Environmental Engineering, and a Master of Engineering in Environmental & Ocean Engineering, both from University of Tokyo. She also studied a Masters of Engineering in Civil Engineering as an exchange student at University of Sydney. She is a CFA Charterholder, holding the designation since 2011.
