Ecstra Foundation has appointed Mike Christensen to its board, effective 1 May 2025.

Mr. Christensen is a highly experienced non-executive director and senior executive with over 30 years’ experience across regulated businesses, including financial services, funds and investment management, property and housing, health, community and education sectors. He is a seasoned finance and risk professional at an executive and governance level with current and past roles as chair and member of finance, audit and risk board committees.

Mr. Christensen currently serves as a non-executive director of Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT), Homes North Community Housing and Rosebank College.

“We welcome Mike to the Ecstra Foundation board and as the incoming chair of our finance, audit and risk committee” said Ecstra’s Chair, Paul Clitheroe AM.

“Mike brings deep expertise in governance, regulation, finance and risk and has a strong track record of working with purpose driven organisations. His insights will be invaluable as we continue to expand our work in building financial capability across the country.“

In accepting the appointment, Mr. Christensen said Financial literacy is a key equity issue for Australia, especially during these challenging economic times. Ensuring that more people can access reliable information and resources to help them make confident financial decisions, as well as supporting organisations providing services to improve community wellbeing are areas I care deeply about.

Ecstra’s grants and programs are making a tangible difference in schools and communities, and I am pleased to contribute to this important work as a member of the board.”
