Schroders Australia has appointed Elise Kennedy to the role of Equities Analyst effective from January 2024. She will be based in Sydney and report to Schroders Head of Research, Australian Equities, Justin Halliwell. Her responsibilities will primarily encompass technology, healthcare providers/logistics, small cap general retail, and office property trusts.

Ms Kennedy joins Schroders from Jarden Research, where she has worked since January 2021 – most recently as Director, Head of Technology, Equity Research. Prior to this she spent seven years with Morgan Stanley in a variety of equity research and sales and trading roles.

Mr Halliwell says Australian equities have played a pivotal role in Schroders Australian business since the 1960s.

“With a consistent track record of strong performance in our Australian Equity Core and Australian Equity Opportunities funds, as well as growing interest in our biodiversity and separately managed accounts (SMA) strategies, we are well-positioned to consistently meet and exceed our clients' expectations across our domestic equity suite.

“Against this backdrop, Elise is a welcome addition to the Schroders Australian equities team. She brings a wealth of experience, having spent seven years at Morgan Stanley, where she covered sectors such as telecommunications, media, technology, and gaming.

“She has earned the #1 ranking in sectors on both the Peter Lee and Asia Institutional Investor (II) surveys. In addition to Elise’s professional background, she is also the founder of "Jarden: Talking Tech," a podcast available on Spotify.”

This development follows the recent appointment of Jennifer Odjugo as Equities Analyst. Ms Odjugo reports to Schroders Head of Research, Australian Equities, Justin Halliwell, and her research responsibilities include Payments and Finance companies, Education, Miscellaneous Industrials and Gold.
