The winners of the 2025 Zenith Fund Awards have been announced at a presentation in Sydney today.

The 2025 Fund Manager of the Year went to Ausbil Investment Management Limited. Ausbil also won in the categories of Australian Equities – Small/Mid/Micro Cap and Sustainable and Responsible Investments – Growth.

Winners were announced across 24 categories including Rising Star, Distributor of the Year, Index Fund Manager of the Year and the major award, Fund Manager of the Year.

The award for the Rising Star category went Langdon Partners, while Distributor of the Year was awarded to Pinnacle Investment Management. This is the second year in a row that Pinnacle has won this award.

Index Fund Manager of the Year award went to Vanguard Investments Australia, for the third year in a row.

Zenith group head of research, Grant Kennaway, said the 2025 Zenith Fund Awards have again celebrated the best in Australia's funds management industry.

“Each finalist is to be commended on their outstanding achievements in their respective fields. They are industry leaders that have been recognised for investment excellence across a range of qualitative and quantitative criteria over the longer term.

“As an investment research business, our purpose is to provide in-depth, high-quality research and analysis on the capabilities of fund managers, to better inform financial advisers’ investment decisions on behalf of their clients.”

Mr Kennaway says each of the awards is based on long-term factors derived from Zenith’s extensive research of fund managers including:

  • organisational and investment team strength
  • investment philosophy
  • security valuation and selection
  • portfolio construction
  • risk management, and
  • fees.

“We also look at quantitative aspects of the funds' longer-term returns to investors.

There’s no short-termism determining any award – the winning fund managers have to demonstrate they have what it takes to deliver for investors over the long term.

“Recognising and encouraging excellence in funds management across all asset classes and disciplines is fundamental to raising the standard of funds management in the industry for the ultimate benefit of investors,” Mr Kennaway said.

The Zenith awards were established in 2012 with just 17 categories of awards, and have grown to deliver awards in 24 categories right across the sector.
